Snowgums has bought roughly 200m of festoon lighting plus a shipload of spare bulbs.
It has also bought LED fluorescent lighting (as a budget alternative) plus LED strip lighting – similar by cooler than fairy style lights. These will be used to decorate the marquee’s exterior. A range of other decorative items are also available for hire.
Web updates
Visitors to our website may also have noticed some changes.
Snowgums Group owner, Mark Smith has returned from a buyer trip to Guangzhou, China to launch amongst other things Snowgums Ice. Shipping containers of equipment are on their way to Mt Canobolas.
The trips purpose was to procure event assets ready for the launch of Snowgums Events. We’ll be hosting rustic marquee weddings under the banner of Snowgums Events on the lush volcanic slopes of Mt. Canobolas. Further blogs listing items purchased will be published in over coming weeks.
Mark in particular is excited about what is hidden away in these boxes. To his knowledge its the only (and probably the largest capacity) cubed ice machine operating on the slope of Mt. Canobolas.
The machine’s specs enable it to produce about half a tonne (500kg) of cubed Snowgums Ice per day.
That’s around 100 x 5kg bags per day, enough to chill a serious amount of beer, wine, sparkling or otherwise.
Snowgums Ice machine
Snowgums’ is blessed with amazing water resources.
Snowgums water assets
We drilled a bore in June 2017 and hit the jackpot. Our drillers divined (sometimes called water dowsing) 2 x 20m (each) permanently flowing creeks intersected under our land.
“It was quite amazing. One of our neighbours up the hill has now drilled in 4 spots, at huge expense, and found 4 separate piles of dust, so we count our blessings”, Mark said.
Snowgums spring water is pumped from deep underground and consumed by thirsty guest and soon shall be frozen into cubed ice for consumption.
“There’ll be a serious amount of drinks chilled by Snowgum Ice’ machine” Mark said. “Probably a fair few hangovers as a result?” he continued.
Mark, a final year law student at the University of Sydney and resident of Beecroft, is hoping to more permanently be based at Snowgums from February 2019. This will assist Snowgums Events to better coordinate and host some of the events our guests are planning.
“It must be a New Year’s thing, our website has been hit hard by couples planning to wed this year and next for about a month straight. It’s been quite amazing,” Mark said.
Mark hopes spending more time at Nashdale will give him the chance to meet more surround local business owners. He’d like to supply ice to them for their events and private usages and look for ways to support each others businesses. These could be local wineries, Nashdale Hall, Nashdale School or private persons wanting spring ice available close at hand. Snowgums plans to buy plenty of local wines and are gearing up to obtain a liquor licence in order to meet event demand.
About Mt Canobolas
According to Wiradjuri legend, Mt. Canobolas is a place renowned for healing. It has many native plant species, including some species unique to the mountain.
Mark believes, as do the Wiradjuri people, that the soils of the mountain are blessed. This is evidenced from the fertile and productive agriculture grown nearby. Mark hopes Snowgums Ice, made from Canobolas underground spring waters, will also have similar rich, fertile and beneficial properties.
